The hardest question to answer for Step 3 is "am I ready to take the exam?" The best way to know how if you are ready is to either use a Step 3 Score Predictor or compare your UWorld averages, StudyCCS averages, and practice exams to other students.
Typically, if your UWorld average is above 65% and you score above 65% correctly on the Free 137 practice exam from the USMLE, then you will pass. Additionally, if you scored greater than 250 on Step 2, even if it was 2 years ago, you have a very high chance of passing even with minimal studying. Typically these students have to just learn the CCS section of the exam and doing about 10–15 cases on StudyCCS will be good enough.
Step 3 Score Predictor
To see your estimated score, you can use the Step 3 Score Predictor where it will compare your scores to 1,000+ other prior Step 3 students and give you an estimated range and likelihood pass percentage. We recommend focusing more on the range that it gives you rather than the pass percentage.
The more of the fields you are able to fill in, the more accurate and precise your score prediction will be.
